Edwards, Gobert Lead the Way

In a thrilling Game 6 of the Western Conference semifinals, the Minnesota Timberwolves avoided elimination by defeating the defending champion Denver Nuggets 120-97. Anthony Edwards led the way for Minnesota with 31 points, while Rudy Gobert added 28 points and 20 rebounds.

The Timberwolves played with a sense of urgency from the start, jumping out to a 14-point lead in the first quarter. Denver chipped away at the lead in the second quarter, but Minnesota took a 53-47 advantage into halftime.

In the second half, the Timberwolves stretched their lead to as many as 23 points. Edwards and Gobert were unstoppable, and the Nuggets could not keep up. Nikola Jokic, who had been averaging 30 points per game in the playoffs, was held to just 12 points.

The victory ensures a Game 7 in Denver on Sunday night. The Nuggets will be looking to close out the series and advance to the Western Conference Finals, while the Timberwolves will be aiming to pull off an upset and keep their season alive.
